Project Administrator / Coordinator – Mining Industry

Perth CBD | 5:2 Roster | Immediate Start | 12-Month Contract (Possible Extension)

Our leading mining client is seeking an experienced Project Administrator/Coordinator to join their team and play a key role in delivering a multi-year program of work across their iron ore value chain.

About the Role

Based in the Perth CBD and reporting to the Principal – Governance & Controls, you will be responsible for providing administrative and coordination support to ensure the successful delivery of multiple projects. Your role will be instrumental in supporting governance, financial control, and logistics activities across the portfolio.
 
Key Responsibilitiesa

  • Assist with project cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting across the portfolio.
  • Collate updates and prepare detailed project and portfolio status reports.
  • Manage purchasing, receipting, and invoice processing in SAP.
  • Support vendor and resourcing processes.
  • Analyse and forecast operational spend across functional areas.
  • Coordinate meetings, events, and logistics for teams and stakeholders.
  • Maintain Teams, SharePoint sites, distribution lists, and system access.
  • Track and order IT equipment, uniforms, and PPE.
  • Support onboarding of contractors and staff, as well as travel bookings.
  • Create and maintain project records in SAP, CAPS, and CPMS.
  • Apply controls and ensure quality assurance across project documentation.
 
About You
To succeed in this role, you will be a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced project environment. You bring a strong mix of technical proficiency, organisational skills, and the ability to work autonomously.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience working within large, complex organisations —you understand the structure, systems, and stakeholder dynamics that come with scale.
  • 4–7 years’ experience in a similar Project Admin/Coordinator role.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing project costs and reporting in SAP.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office Suite skills.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint and enterprise collaboration tools.
  • Experience preparing project updates and financial summaries.
  • Understanding of project controls and governance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
Desirable
  • Exposure to project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile, Scrum, or SAFe.
  • Familiarity with change management concepts (e.g., PROSCI).
