Program Change Manager – 12-Month Contract
Independent Contractor | Full-time
Day Rate: Open – Guide $1100–1400/day (negotiable for the right person)
We’re on the lookout for a Program Change Manager
to support a major integration program within the utilities sector. This is a senior role for an independent contractor only
– ABN, ACN, and insurances required
– available full-time on a 12-month engagement.
The role:
Reporting to the Program Director and working closely with the People & Culture stream, you’ll be responsible for building and rolling out a robust change and communications strategy to support business transformation. This includes managing stakeholder engagement, business readiness, adoption, and reinforcement of key changes across the organisation.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a holistic Change Plan in collaboration with project and comms teams
- Identify and manage internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, customers, and employees
- Apply structured change methodologies aligned to integration and transformation goals
- Work with P&C to assess change impacts on employment conditions, policies, and industrial instruments
- Build and maintain tools to support employee engagement throughout the transition
- Conduct readiness assessments and manage resistance with appropriate mitigation tactics
- Develop reinforcement strategies to embed change post-implementation
- Support execution of corporate training where relevant to the integration (focus on coordination, not design)
- Create and deliver a strong internal communications strategy using multiple channels
- Develop comms content for town halls, leadership packs, and staff engagement sessions
- Deep experience in organisational change management, within large-scale transformation or integration
- Strong track record in stakeholder engagement and internal communications
- Sector experience in utilities, construction, or infrastructure is a must
- Tertiary qualifications in HR, Change Management, or similar
- Solid grounding in methodologies like ADKAR or PCI
- Comfortable working with senior leaders and independently driving delivery
Day rate: We’re flexible depending on experience, with a typical range of $1100–1400/day.
