Our state government client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented ICT Procurement and Contracts Officer(Level 4) to join their Project Procurement Team on a temporary basis.
This role is pivotal in supporting ICT project procurement and contract management activities across a dynamic and fast-paced directorate.

Reporting to the Manager, Project Procurement, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering compliant, timely, and effective procurement and contract support for IT projects and general ICT resource/service engagements.

We are looking for a proactive team player with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within a government or ICT-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process purchase orders for ICT services and resources
  • Assist in planning and developing low to medium-risk contracts in compliance with WA Government and departmental policies
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of all procurement documentation
  • Prepare data and documentation for statistical and management reporting.
  • Provide procurement advice and support to internal stakeholders
  • Maintain filing systems, templates, and administrative documentation
  • Assist in the development and implementation of procurement tools, templates, and internal controls
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and respond to queries
  • Provide general administrative support to the Manager, Contracts
Key Selection Criteria
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement and contract management
  • Strong written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to liaise, consult, and negotiate with a range of stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with financial processes including accounts payable (highly desirable)
  • Familiarity with WA Government procurement processes and CUAs (desirable)
Contract Management Requirements
  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct
  • Engagement with contract agency Account Manager as required
 
Key Performance Indicators
  • Timely and compliant delivery of all documentation to required internal standards
  • Proactive communication of drafts, reports, and final documentation within agreed timelines
  • Work outputs to meet quality expectations and delivery timeframes as set by the Manager, Project Procurement
