Are you a procurement professional with a passion for policy, performance, and public sector excellence?

We are currently seeking two highly capable Procurement Advisors(Level 7 & Level 9) to join our client’s team on a temporary basis. These are fantastic opportunities to step in and to contribute to the enhancement of procurement practices across this state government department ensuring service delivery and strategic objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the research, development, and implementation of procurement, contract management and purchasing policies, practices, and guidelines
  • Manage complex procurement and purchasing projects
  • Monitor and analyse emerging trends, risks and issues in procurement, and implement responsive solutions to improve performance
  • Drive improvement initiatives in response to legislative, environmental, or systemic changes
  • Provide expert input into State Government procurement reviews, inquiries, and initiatives
  • Liaise with a broad range of stakeholders to foster a consistent and collaborative approach to procurement practices
  • Prepare reports, briefing documents, and presentations to inform senior leadership and key stakeholders
  • Support state-wide program development and delivery aligned with compliance and policy frameworks
  • Represent the Office of the Chief Procurement Officer at forums, working groups, and strategic meetings
Liaison & Advisory Functions:
  • Deliver timely, high-level advice on procurement and contract management matters
  • Ensure stakeholders are supported with practical and customer-focused procurement guidance
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of policy developments, legal frameworks, and industry best practice
  • Promote procurement reform and improvements through effective communication and stakeholder engagement
Team and Organisational Contribution:
  • Mentor team members and promote a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Provide responsive support to internal and external queries from senior managers
  • Uphold the values and strategic direction of the Office of the Chief Procurement Officer
  • Contribute to a fair, safe, inclusive and innovative workplace culture
 
Selection Criteria (Essential):
  1. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in procurement development and contract management, including policy, practice and direction within a government or similar environment
  2. Strong commitment to providing highly responsive, customer-focused procurement solutions to complex procurement issues  in a timely and effective manner
  3. Demonstrated ability to communicate, liaise, consult and build effective working relationships with stakeholders across all levels in both written and verbal forms.
  4. Demonstrated interpersonal, analytical and conceptual skills, ensuring customer expectations are achieved and issues influencing the quality of procurement solutions are addressed
  5. Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a small team environment to achieve organisational goals
  6. Proven ability to plan, prioritise and organise workloads effectively to meet competing deadlines and agreed timeframes
