Role Overview:
Our client, a leading mining company, is seeking an experienced Principal Site Strategic Planner
with a strong consulting
or finance
background. In this critical role, you will provide strategic leadership to site executives, translating corporate strategy into actionable plans while overseeing budgeting, performance reporting, stakeholder communications, and high-level site visits.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to impact the mining industry, with the possibility of transitioning to a full-time role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Translate corporate objectives into actionable plans, manage their implementation, and track progress.
- Project Management: Lead and manage key projects to ensure value delivery and meet timelines.
- Decision-Making: Make strategic, evidence-based decisions aligned with long-term objectives.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including JV partners, suppliers, and board members.
- Presentations & Workshops: Deliver high-impact presentations and facilitate workshops to engage and influence key audiences.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement initiatives to improve safety, efficiency, and system effectiveness.
- Change Management: Manage organizational change processes to improve productivity.
- Operational Support: Oversee work-ready programs, indigenous liaison, operational readiness, uplift projects, and rehabilitation.
- Resource Prioritization: Prioritize resources and efforts to ensure 100% safety, customer value, and zero waste.
- Experience: Strong background in business/management consulting or finance, ideally in mining or industrial sectors.
- Education: Degree in Business or a related discipline.
- Leadership: Proven experience leading strategic initiatives and influencing stakeholders.
- Project Management: Strong skills in managing complex projects and ensuring timely delivery.
- Communication: Expertise in presenting complex data and delivering impactful workshops.
- Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated success in driving continuous improvement within large organizations.
- Change Management: Experience with leading change management processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled at managing relationships with senior executives and external stakeholders.
- Impact: Directly contribute to the strategic direction and operational excellence of a leading mining company.
