Plant Operator

Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced Plant Operator to support the Baiada team at Oakburn, Tamworth. This position primarily serves as a backup to cover shifts for absent team members, so flexibility with working hours is essential.
 

• $35.98 per hour
• Monday - Friday 11 PM – 7 AM
• Saturday penalties and allowances apply
• Potential for permanent employment following probation

About the Role
As a Plant Operator, your key responsibilities will include:

• Operating and maintaining the weighbridge system, ensuring trucks are accurately weighed in and out, completing records, and performing Chain of Responsibility (COR) checks
• Operating and cleaning the Wastewater Treatment Plant
• Loading and unloading trucks efficiently, as well as filling bulk bags with finished products
• Managing Biofilter operations and accurately recording operational data
• Performing general site cleaning and routine maintenance tasks

About You
We’re looking for a proactive, reliable, and hands-on Plant Operator who is eager to grow their career within a dynamic and expanding organisation. You will bring:

• A strong commitment to long-term career growth
• Intermediate computer skills
• Knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems, or a willingness to learn, including experience with system maintenance, temperature and rate monitoring, and report generation
• A mechanical mindset and physical fitness to handle manual tasks
• A valid forklift license with a minimum of one year’s experience
• A dependable work history and reliable transportation
• Experience in the food manufacturing industry is an advantage
• Full Australian work rights (permanent residency or citizenship)

You’ll also bring a positive, team-focused attitude, a proactive approach to plant operations, and the flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required.
