A leading organisation is on the lookout for a switched-on, detail-loving Payroll & Leave Specialist
to join their People & Culture team. If you're someone who enjoys the rhythm of payroll, understands the ins and outs of leave entitlements, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment — this could be your perfect match.
You'll work closely with the Payroll Team Leader to ensure every payslip is spot-on, every entitlement is fair, and every process runs smoothly. You'll also have the opportunity to be part of ongoing process improvements in a collaborative, supportive, and people-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process high-volume, fortnightly payroll with accuracy and efficiency
- Manage long service leave and ensure entitlements align with NSW legislation
- Interpret enterprise agreements, awards, and policies with confidence
- Handle complex payroll tasks such as terminations, back pays, superannuation, and tax
- Resolve payroll queries and liaise with internal stakeholders
- Support continuous improvement and help refine payroll procedures
- Provide backup support to the Payroll Team Leader as required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in end-to-end payroll in a large organisation
- Qualifications in payroll or accounting
- Strong knowledge of NSW Long Service Leave legislation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
- Experience using EmpowerHR or similar cloud-based systems (highly regarded)
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Team player with great communication skills
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- National Police Check
- Willingness to travel between sites if needed
- Salary: $99,666 per annum plus 12% super
- Work hours: 7-hour day, 35-hour week (70-hour fortnight)
- Business hours: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm or 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Locations: Lismore or Coffs Harbour NSW
- Hybrid work options: Up to 2 WFH days per week
