About the Client:

Government department tasked with making life easier, accessible, and equitable for thousands of individuals and families across Australia. Currently seeking for an Fraud Investigation Support Officer to join their busy team for a 12-month casual temporary assignment.

About the role

As a Fraud Investigation Support Officer, you will support on operational and tactical matters to investigate and respond to internal and external fraud against the Agency. In addition, your key duties are as follows:

  • Work with other investigation assistants under the leadership and coordination of the National Technical Officer (NTO), providing consistent and reliable technical support across the full
    investigation function.
  • Assess information, analysing documents, data and other information, raising or referring issues, and providing appropriate support to investigators. 
  • Assist in preventing inappropriate benefit payments by monitoring, reviewing, checking and reporting to support compliance and mitigate potential risk.
  • Conduct telephone and face-to-face enquiries when for verifying information and data.
  • Use a range of analytical tools and databases, collecting, collating and maintaining data records.
  • Maintain accurate records of decisions and activities using business systems such as Excel, iBase and CRM based system products.
 
About you

To be successful in this role, you must have:
  • Prior experience in fraud investigations within a government setting
  • Completed or currently undertaking a Cert IV in Government Investigations
  • Ability to use computer/software applications including Microsoft Office. 
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse issues from different perspectives. 
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and capacity to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to be able to travel interstate which can be overnight and multiple days
