Our client AGL’s OVO Energy team are seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer on a 12-month contract, where you’ll work in a fast-paced environment focused on innovation and customer impact. You’ll collaborate across product, design, and engineering to build scalable, customer-facing solutions using modern technologies. The role is Melbourne CBD based in a hybrid working environment.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work across the full stack—including infrastructure—using TypeScript, React, and AWS. You’ll be involved in everything from design and development to deployment and monitoring, contributing to real-time systems and event-driven architectures.

Key Responsibilities
•    Develop and maintain full-stack applications using TypeScript
•    Build responsive UIs using React for mobile and web platforms.
•    Design and implement backend services using AWS Lambda, Step Functions, and other serverless components.
•    Contribute to infrastructure-as-code using Terraform.
•    Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
•    Participate in agile ceremonies and development practices including TDD and CI/CD.

Tech Stack Highlights
•    Languages & Frameworks: TypeScript, React, GraphQL
•    Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS (Lambda, ECS, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, CloudFront), Terraform
•    Architecture: Microservices, event-driven systems, real-time customer-facing platforms
•    Tools: CircleCI, Jest, Git, monitoring, and logging tools

About You
•    You will have proven experience in software development.
•    Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks like React.
•    Experience with AWS services and serverless architecture.
•    Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
•    Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
•    Passion for building impactful products and solving complex problems.
