About the Client:
Government agency tasked with making life easier, accessible, and equitable for thousands of individuals and families across Australia. Currently seeking for a Senior Fraud Business Analyst join their busy team for a casual 12-months temporary assignment.
About the Role
As a Fraud Business Analyst will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in very complex problem solving and issues management within the change management functions. The position requires exercising sound decision making and judgement to produce high level policy advice and operational support.
- Analysing data, interpreting results, and producing reports using advanced statistical techniques.
- Overseeing and coordinating reporting to monitor, track, and drive improvement and performance outcomes.
- Provide support on stakeholder analysis, assisting the team to engage with stakeholders to effectively understand cross-business functions.
- Leading the development of business functional requirements and resources, ensuring consistency with contractual, legislative, and policy environments.
- Translating business metrics to inform and guide internal stakeholders on efficiency, improvement, and performance outcomes including mentoring other staff.
- Managing the establishment, implementation of the governance and compliance processes, dashboards, and management systems to track and evaluate branch and divisional performance.
- Leading and overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and audit of risk processes, controls, and undertaking issues resolution.
- Having the ability to respond to and prioritise competing and often urgent requests in a calm and efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards.
- Lead the analysis, documentation, and delivery of fraud-related initiatives for web and mobile applications, with a strong focus on improving accessibility, user experience, and digital security.
- Define and manage technical requirements that support design and implementation of identity verification, fraud detection, and resolution capabilities across digital channels.
- Create and maintain detailed artefacts including technical requirements, requirements traceability matrix, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process maps to support fraud-related initiatives.
- Provide expertise across fraud identity initiatives, with a strong understanding of fraud risks and data integrity.
- Proactively support adjacent workstreams with urgent deliverables or gaps in capability, demonstrating versatility and a commitment to team outcomes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively liaise and keep stakeholders informed and engaged, both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated experience working on identity focused fraud prevention initiatives, including identity resolution, secure authentication or fraud risk detection.
- Ability to translate complex identity or fraud-related business needs into technical requirements, bridging the gap between business and technical teams.
- Skilled in facilitating workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions to gather insights and define processes that minimise fraud exposure and improve data integrity.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, cultivating productive working relationships across multiple projects and business areas.
- Have worked in a similar role for at least 3 years
- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be able to hold a Baseline clearence

- Hybrid - Subject to negotiations with line manager, hybrid working arrangements in line with current policy are available (minimum of 3 days each week in the office, with flexible arrangements in place for the remaining 2 days). Infrequent overnight travel (dependent on candidates location) may be required.

- Rate will be negotiated one expectation and experience
