Finance Officer 
Melbourne | VPS4 Equivalent | Hybrid Working | Short term Contract

We’re currently working with a government client seeking an experienced F inance Officer  to contribute to high-level financial decision-making, policy interpretation, and strategic planning across complex programs.
This role suits a candidate who brings both technical financial expertise and the ability to communicate and influence across a range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply policy and business plans to guide strategic financial decisions
• Prepare briefs, reports and correspondence on complex financial and operational matters
• Conduct advanced analysis and apply theoretical knowledge to operational challenges
• Provide trusted advice at program and departmental levels
• Contribute to strategic planning, corporate reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in a senior financial advisory or business partnering role
• Ability to engage with and influence stakeholders across a government or large organisational setting
• Strong analytical and written communication skills
• Adaptable, collaborative, and solutions-focused approach
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance (essential)
• CPA or CA accreditation (desirable)
