We're looking for a dynamic Equipment Hire Manager
to lead our clients Equipment Hire & Service department to ensure operational excellence. This is a highly visible role and responsible for a small and well-established team.

The Equipment Hire Manager
oversees the end-to-end operations of the Equipment Hire & Service department. You'll lead a high-performing team of technicians, manage hire processes, maintain compliance and safety, and drive continuous improvement across systems and inventory. This is a key leadership role that requires a proactive, hands-on professional with strong technical knowledge and people management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Leadership
- Champion a culture of safety across your team and operations.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and lead incident response and reporting.
- Manage contractor and visitor safety protocols.
- Uphold ISO9001, company and customer standards.
- Lead quality investigations and audits.
- Understand standards relevant to poly welding and fittings fabrication.
- Lead by example with high emotional intelligence and adherence to company values.
- Develop KPIs, ensure clear role definition, and foster a collaborative, accountable team culture.
- Maintain strong communication and cross-department collaboration.
- Drive Lean methodology and principles across the department.
- Champion systematic process enhancements and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Oversee equipment transactions, hire processes, and customer service.
- Manage invoicing, documentation, and coordination with stakeholders.
- Lead MSC hire and service systems, ensuring team compliance with inspections and tracking.
- Coordinate and manage inventory of equipment and spare parts.
- Oversee transport coordination and safe equipment movement.
- Ensure supply availability and accurate system records.
- Proven leadership experience in a hire, logistics, or technical services environment
- Strong understanding of equipment maintenance and hire systems
- Commitment to safety, quality, and process excellence
- Ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Experience with continuous improvement practices
