Disaster Recovery Officer

                                
Start Date: 13th June
Duration: Up to 6 weeks, with the possibility of extension
Locations: Taree, Kempsey, Tuncurry, Port Macquarie and surrounds
Police Checks: Required prior to commencement
Availability: Monday to Friday, 10+ hours per day (including travel). Weekend work may be required.

We’re looking for dedicated individuals who thrive in challenging and highly emotive environments. In this role, you will:

• Provide frontline support to communities impacted by disasters
• Serve customers in a professional and compassionate manner, including those in distress
• Deliver services both face-to-face and over the phone to ensure a positive customer experience
• Display resilience when handling enquiries and complaints from distressed customers
• Communicate clearly and confidently, even under pressure
• Collaborate with colleagues and key stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes
• Act with integrity, ensuring confidentiality and privacy of customer information
• Travel as needed within Recovery Centres in the designated regional areas

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Demonstrated experience in customer service roles (minimum 1 year)
• Experience in providing support to people experiencing trauma
• Strong computer and basic technical skills to assist with digital transactions
• Ability to work in high-volume, high-pressure environments
• A current Class C Drivers Licence
• Commitment to working 5+ days/week, 10+ hours/day, and on weekends if required
