We’re seeking an experienced and compassionate Counsellor
to join a dynamic Student Support team within the education sector. This full-time contract role offers an immediate start and the opportunity to make a real difference in students’ lives across four Gold Coast campuses.
About the Role:
As the Counsellor, you’ll provide support to students experiencing a range of personal, emotional, financial, and academic challenges. You’ll also work closely with teaching and administrative teams to support behavioural management, build student resilience, and ensure learners are equipped for success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver confidential counselling to students.
- Support staff and management during critical incidents, providing advice and referral pathways.
- Guide students through study and career pathways.
- Work with students with additional needs, including those from diverse backgrounds.
- Support skill development in areas like time management, motivation, and interpersonal skills.
- Maintain accurate documentation and service records.
- Promote a strong safety and wellbeing culture.
- A qualified and confident counsellor with experience in student wellbeing or a similar support setting.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Able to work across multiple campuses and manage a varied caseload.
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Degree in Counselling, Educational Psychology, Psychology or Social Work
- Ability to travel between Robina, Ashmore, Southport, and Coomera campuses as needed.
