Communications & Release Coordination Lead

Location:  Melbourne CBD/Hybrid
Rate: VPS5 (as per Victorian Public Service classification)
Contract Type: Short term, 3 months

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Communications & Release Coordination Lead to support a high-profile reform program within a Victorian State Government Department. This position plays a key role in coordinating platform and application release activities while driving consistent, clear, and timely communications across key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate activities across the platform and application teams in line with the release program schedule.
  • Liaise with OPSEC and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and alignment with departmental communication protocols.
  • Identify and utilise appropriate communication channels for internal and external audiences.
  • Develop, edit, and deliver technical content tailored for a non-technical audience, ensuring clarity and consistency.
  • Collaborate closely with taskforce program areas to ensure alignment with broader reform messaging.
  • Support the creation and delivery of content for events, presentations, and executive-level briefings.
Key Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in release coordination or program support within a large or complex organisation (preferably government or related sectors).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information for diverse audiences.
  • Experience managing or contributing to communications in complex reform or transformation environments.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • High-level stakeholder engagement skills with the confidence to liaise with senior leadership and technical teams.
  • Knowledge of government communication protocols, OPSEC processes, or previous experience in a similar environment is highly desirable.
