A leading provider of industrial pump solutions is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join their Melbourne team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to drive growth and contribute to the success of a market-leading company specialising in high-performance pumping systems and related services. You’ll have the chance to work across a variety of sectors, including water treatment, mining, manufacturing, and energy, using your sales expertise and technical knowledge to build strong client relationships and expand market share.
Key Responsibilities:
- New Business Development: Identify and pursue new opportunities for pumping systems and related services across key sectors, including water treatment, mining, manufacturing, and energy.
- Client Portfolio Management: Manage, maintain, and grow an existing client portfolio while actively seeking out new leads, projects, and service contracts.
- Technical Solutions Delivery: Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to provide tailored pumping solutions, such as centrifugal pumps, diaphragm pumps, submersible pumps, and booster systems. You’ll be involved in end-to-end solutions for customers, from system design and installation to ongoing maintenance and support.
- Sales Leadership: Present products and solutions to key decision-makers, guiding them through the sales process and closing deals effectively. Lead technical discussions and help clients select the best pumping systems for their specific applications.
- Proposal Development: Prepare and submit competitive tenders, quotes, and proposals to potential clients, ensuring they meet customer needs and expectations.
- Market Insight and Strategy: Stay updated on market trends, monitor competitor activity, and gather customer feedback to refine strategies, improve product offerings, and identify new business opportunities.
- Experience: 3-5 years of B2B sales experience, ideally within the industrial pump industry, water treatment, mining, or related heavy industries.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of various pumping systems and applications, including centrifugal pumps, diaphragm pumps, peristaltic pumps, screw pumps, and gear pumps. Knowledge of systems used in water treatment, sewage, dewatering, slurry handling, and chemical processes will be highly advantageous.
- Sales Success: Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets, maintain long-term client relationships, and negotiate complex deals with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Communication and Presentation Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and accessible way to a range of stakeholders.
- Self-Motivation and Results-Driven: Proactive, goal-focused, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel regionally as required to meet with clients, assess project sites, and oversee the successful implementation of solutions.
- Competitive base salary of $100k - $120k + 11.5% superannuation.
