Business Data Analyst (Brisbane / Gold Coast)

Government agency tasked with making life easier, accessible, and equitable for thousands of individuals and families across Australia. Currently seeking a multiple Business Data Analysts to join their busy team for a 12-months temporary assignment.


About the role

As a Business Data Analyst, you will be responsible for identifying key trends and insights and sharing these with Frontline Services to drive improvements in performance and quality. In addition, your key duties are as follow:

• Understand, extract and present data using reporting products such as Microsoft Excel, Salesforce and SAS libraries and data, to coordinate branch reporting and monitor and track improvement outcomes.
• Drive the creation, refinement and maintenance of projection modelling tools in excel and other software.
• Generate forecasting reports, visualisations and insights using excel based projection modelling for operational and strategic use.
• Interpret trends and performance results in the context of business operations and strategies
• Draft communication pieces and presenting business insights and recommendations
• Undertake quality assurance processes, including quality checks with reports, quality trend analysis and outcomes analysis
• Liaise with, manage relationships and educate key agency stakeholders to build knowledge on reporting products and data literacy

About you

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Advanced Excel skills, Microsoft Office 365, SAS
• Understanding of forecasting & statistical modelling
• Experience using JIRA and Salesforce analytics tools
• Ability to prepare and present business intelligence reports
• Strong communication skills to translate technical jargon into accessible communication with stakeholders

  • Senior: $55.24 per hour + super
  • Team Leader: $60.26 per hour + super
• Multiple locations available:
  • Geelong or Melbourne VIC
  • Newcastle or Wollongong NSW
  • Brisbane or Gold Coast QLD
