About SACAT
Our client , The South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (SACAT), is a statutory body that helps resolve a broad range of disputes and make important decisions that affect people's lives. We are currently seeking a capable and resilient Tribunal Case Officer (Community Team)
to join their high-performing team on a casual, full-time basis.
About the Role
As a Tribunal Case Officer, you will play a critical role in preparing documentation and managing cases for tribunal hearings, specifically within the Community stream. You will liaise with parties, facilitate hearing processes, and ensure accurate documentation is ready for Tribunal Members who determine outcomes under the SACAT Act.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed case submissions and manage hearing documentation
- Communicate with parties via phone and email to facilitate tribunal processes
- Navigate complex, sensitive, and at times, emotionally charged matters
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency in a digital case management system
- Work effectively as part of a team to support the broader goals of SACAT
You are highly organised, detail-oriented, and possess strong administrative skills. Your ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations sets you apart. Ideally, you bring experience from a government or regulatory environment and are confident in managing sensitive subject matter.
Key Requirements:
- Strong administrative background, preferably in government or legal sectors
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute with high accuracy
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence using digital systems
- Emotional resilience and professional maturity, especially when handling sensitive topics involving vulnerable individuals
- Ability to follow legal process boundaries (note: this role does not provide legal advice)
