AO4 - Communications Officer

We are seeking a proactive and motivated  AO4 Communications Officer  to join the Government Relations team within the South Coast Region.

Location: Nerang 
Salary: $58.02 - $63.69/hour + super 
Duration: 6 month assignment 


Key Responsibilities:

• Draft and contribute to briefing notes, correspondence, and media statements.
• Respond to media and public enquiries relating to South Coast Region projects.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across government, industry, and the community.
• Ensure information, data, and correspondence are managed in line with departmental standards and confidentiality requirements.
• Support business improvement processes and internal controls to enhance project outcomes.
• Adhere to all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
• A collaborative approach and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience in a communications or stakeholder engagement role, ideally within infrastructure, transport, or government settings.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Current C Class Driver's Licence.
• Willingness to undergo Criminal History Screening.

Desirable:

• Tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
• Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure or civil projects will be highly regarded.
