About the client:

Government department tasked with making life easier, accessible, and equitable for thousands of individuals and families across Australia.  Currently seeking a talented Admin / Receptionist professional to join their busy team for a casual temporary assignment until end of December 2025.


About the role

As an Admin / Receptionist, you will undertake procedural, clerical, administrative support and operational tasks including some basic research and analysis activities. In addition, your key duties are as follows:

  • Provide counter/reception support for the local office including customer enquiries in the self-help kiosks and online support.
  • Resolve customer enquiries, provide information and/or refer customers to appropriate government or community services.
  • Manage the team shared email inbox, appointments and telephone enquiries.
  • Coordinate appointments with the use of Agency office facilities and ensuring facilities are accessible for participants.
  • Undertake research and investigation activities and preparing associated reports and correspondence.
  • Undertake a range of data entry activities and ensure follow up is completed.
 
About you

To be successful in this role, you must have:
  • Proven experience as an Administration Officer, Receptionist, Customer Service or similar role
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in using MS Office products
  • First Nations cultural knowledge and awareness is a plus!
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage various internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to handle tasks with competing deadlines and priorities.

  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday
  • $37.36 per hour + super
  • Devonport, TAS location
