About the Client:
Government department tasked with making life easier, accessible, and equitable for thousands of individuals and families across Australia. Currently seeking for multiple Actuary Analysts to join their busy team for a casual 12 months temporary assignment.
About the Role
As an Actuary Analyst, you will provide ongoing monitoring and reporting on the Agency performance against key metrics both externally and to the board and its subcommittees. You will perform analysis and sustainability impact assessments to support the Strategic Leadership Team in policy development and provide key strategic insights on legislative reforms. In addition, your key duties are as follows:
- Extract, cleanse, and prepare data from multiple sources, in particular the data warehouse, and advising on appropriate data checks for reasonableness.
- Update and develop regular performance monitoring.
- Support the Actuary Division to fulfill statutory requirements including provision of data and analysis for reporting to the Board, Minister and for the purpose of public data sharing.
- Utilise statistical and mathematical modelling techniques, including actuarial monitoring and analyses, data tabulations, scheme projects and cost benefit analyses.
- Undertake ad hoc modelling requests and report production.
- Effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) the progress of work responsibilities and outcomes of work undertaken.
About You
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Relevant academic qualifications including tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies or Mathematics/Statistics, progressing towards Associate and/or Fellowship qualifications.
- Junior Role Actuary Education: Part I and progress with Part II
- Senior Role Actuary Education: Part I, Part II, and progress with Part III
- Proven experience in an actuary or mathematics / statistics role, ideally within the insurance industry
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills
