Accounts Receivable Collections Officer

Join a fast-paced, high-performing team as an Accounts Receivable Collections Officer, where you'll play a key role in supporting billing accuracy, providing outstanding customer service, and ensuring timely recovery of outstanding accounts—all while maintaining compliance with relevant guidelines and privacy legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound customer calls to resolve billing queries and support payment arrangements.
- Action assigned account portfolios to drive efficient and accurate debt recovery.
- Assess customer circumstances to determine appropriate resolution strategies or payment support options.
- Maintain accurate records in line with privacy, records management and data security requirements.
- Escalate policy anomalies or unclear billing scenarios to ensure alignment with processes and procedures.
- Provide administrative support across the accounts receivable function and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
- Maintain a strong understanding of debt collection and billing guidelines and their application in day-to-day operations.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
- Previous experience in accounts receivable, billing, or collections within a high-volume customer service environment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive or complex conversations professionally.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take initiative.
- Competent using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Certificate in Business/Finance is desirable but not required.
- Understanding of privacy, data protection, and debt collection legislation.
- Ability to handle confidential matters with maturity and sound judgement.
- Police check required.
