About the Role:

We are seeking a WHS Specialist  for an initial 6-month contract with likely extension. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your expertise in Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) will make a direct impact on the wellbeing of employees and clients within a healthcare setting.
This role will require you to work closely with executive leadership and directors, guiding them to make critical decisions based on WHS findings and recommendations. You will be an essential part of maintaining and improving the WHS management systems across multiple sites within the South West.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with executives and directors, advising on WHS issues and leading them to make informed decisions.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of WHS Management Systems, including policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant WHS legislation, perform incident investigations, and conduct risk assessments.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance on WHS matters across multiple healthcare facilities.
  • Travel across the region to Campbelltown, Bankstown, and Liverpool to ensure WHS standards are being maintained.
 
Candidate Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a WHS role within a healthcare/clinical setting (government or private sector).
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in WHS or equivalent professional experience in WHS or risk management in the healthcare sector.
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation, incident investigation, and risk assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience in contributing to the development and implementation of WHS Management Systems that improve organisational WHS performance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders and drive WHS initiatives at an executive level.
  • Resilient, confident, and able to manage complex WHS challenges in a healthcare environment.
  • Essential you can work autonomously and in a fast-paced environment.
