As the Managing Director at Chandler Macleod, Nick is an unwavering catalyst for transformation within the industry. His commitment to diversity has made him an industry champion and he occupies a coveted position as a regional council luminary within the Recruitment and Staffing Industry Association (RCSA).

Margo Shand

National General Manager - Industrial


An accomplished, hands on, General Manager with almost 2 decades in the staffing industry, Margo is a driving force behind Chandler Macleod’s success in the NSW/ACT region. Through strategic leadership and a passionate commitment to ongoing staff training borne from her early years in the Education Sector, she has positioned her team as experts in connecting talent with opportunity. 


Margo and her team currently work with a broad range of clients within Regional NSW and ACT including some of Australia’s largest Mining, Manufacturing and Industrial Companies, State, Local and Federal Government clients as well as award winning Professional Services firms.


Margo maintains strong industry and professional networks and she has the support of state-of-the-art internal infrastructure, combined with the networking and support of colleagues within other divisions of Chandler Macleod to assist her teams.

Karl Smart

National General Manager - Professional Services


With over 17 years’ experience as a recruitment and labour hire professional, and having led recruitment functions across both Queensland and New South Wales, Karl brings extensive operational and strategic leadership expertise to his role. Throughout this period, Karl's active involvement with the RCSA has been notable, serving as a QLD Council Member from 2018 to 2022.


Karl and his team showcase an impressive track record in seamlessly onboarding and managing a diverse array of client accounts. This portfolio includes both national and international brands spanning various industry sectors. Karl's recruitment approach is inherently consultative, tailored to offer bespoke solutions that align with the distinct needs of both clients and candidates.


Over the past 7 years, the Queensland division has experienced exponential growth, expanding its presence across the state. Noteworthy achievements include setting new records in temporary and permanent placements at all levels of seniority, new client acquisitions, and fostering robust staff engagement. The QLD team's success is underpinned by their commitment to enhancing candidate and client satisfaction through the consistent evolution of candidate attraction and retention strategies. Moreover, their adeptness in identifying and integrating technological innovations has been pivotal in the provision of best in market solutions.

National General Manager - Mining


An experienced and results-driven leader with a passion for strategy and talent solutions, Jon is skilled in establishing and nurturing long-term partnerships with employees and clients. He is committed to understanding client needs in order to deliver exceptional service and develop effective strategies to attract and retain.


Jon’s expertise in managing complex operations and optimising processes to enhance efficiency and productivity allows him to help clients to identify areas for improvement and implement streamlined solutions. 



With over 26 years of leadership and team management, Jon is adept at building high-performing teams both for his own teams and Chandler Macleod’s clients, and leading them towards achieving personal and organisational goals.

Cynthia Andrews

Director of Employment Equity


Cynthia Andrews is a seasoned professional in the field of employment engagement and strategy, currently serving as the Director of Employment Equity at Chandler Macleod. With a profound commitment to driving positive change and fostering sustainable employment opportunities, Cynthia has dedicated her career to engaging with long-term unemployed cohorts and government liaison at both a State and Federal level.


As a driving force behind Chandler Macleod’s initiatives, Cynthia and her team are responsible for leading efforts that bring together diverse groups, including youth, parents, mature-age individuals, females, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, into the realm of sustainable employment. Her expertise lies in orchestrating pre-employment programs across a broad spectrum of industry sectors, such as Government, Mining, Construction, FMCG, Facilities Management, Warehouse, and Transport & Logistics. By focusing on these diverse sectors, Cynthia ensures that local communities are seamlessly connected with invaluable employment prospects.

Gordon Chambers

With over 25 years’ experience in the recruitment industry, Gordon heads up the Chandler Macleod Managed Services business, leading teams to deliver on exceptional customer service and save our clients thousands of hours – helping them to focus on the areas that truly deliver value to their organisation.


With a focus on optimisation, Gordon and his team optimise supply chains including hundreds of vendors, negotiate premium and sustainable terms with suppliers and implement complex risk mitigation strategies to support their clients needs.

Jamie has over 23 years’ experience in the recruitment, consulting and workforce management industry, with specific expertise in designing, implementing and managing high value talent acquisition and managed workforce solutions to leading and progressive organisations across Asia Pacific.

 

Jamie founded and now leads the xPO Talent Solutions business which delivers MSP, RPO, Graduate and Total Talent Management solutions to customers across the Technology, Resources, Industrial, Government and Banking & Finance sectors.

With over 18 years of experience in the field of organisational psychology, Jamie is a Registered Psychologist and General Manager of the Chandler Macleod Consulting business. Jamie’s strong background in psychometric assessment, insight into human behaviour and deep understanding of organisational dynamics allows him to achieve positive shifts in personal and organisational performance for clients.


Jamie and his team have led a wide variety of large-scale consulting projects across a broad range of industry sectors. A highly experienced Client Solutions Director with over 40 years in the recruitment and people management industries (21 of which have been with Chandler Macleod). There’s not many sectors that Ken hasn't had first-hand experience in.


Playing a key role in customer specialisation within the Industrial and Government sectors, including FMCG, manufacturing, transport and logistics he has achieved outstanding business growth for Chandler Macleod and their national clients.


Ken has held roles at all levels within the industry and truly understands what is required to develop successful relationships, recruitment strategies and holistic large scale talent solutions.
