Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Youth Protection Auditor a contract until June 2021, with potential extensions of 2X 12 months. This is a part time position requiring 3 days work a week.
Position Overview
The purpose of the Youth Protection Auditor position is to implement the youth protection audit program to support continuous improvement in youth protection performance.
The Youth Protection Auditor will be required to:

  • work in Brindabella Park Offices Canberra two to three days per week
  • build and maintain positive working relationships
  • collaborate with a diverse workforce comprising collocated and geographically dispersed civilian, military and contractor personnel
  • complete assigned tasks with limited direction and supervision within agreed timelines
  • report to Staff Officer Grade 1 (SO1) Youth Protection Assurance (YPA), which is an Reserve (part-time) position
    The Youth Protection Auditor may be required to travel and execute higher duties as required in the absence of the SO1 YPA.
  • Plan, undertake and report outcomes of enterprise-level desktop and physical compliance and conformance youth protection audits against DYPMS requirements.
  • Manage audit outcomes and track audit corrective actions to closure within the Work Health and Safety Information Management System (Sentinel).
  • Analyse youth protection audit data to identify trends, hazards, risks and systemic issues.
  • Assist Group and service stakeholders to manage audit corrective actions and analyse youth protection audit data.
  • Contribute to the development of clear and concise youth protection performance reports and briefs to senior committees and boards.
  • Coordinate working groups and stakeholder consultation as required.
  • Contribute to directorate administration as directed.
    Qualifications / Skills / Experience Requirements
    Qualifications, experience and skills in an auditor role is essential. Safety investigation and/or management experience would be highly desirable.
