Workplace Services Manager - Facilities Management

About The Role

The mission of the Workplace Services team is to create an environment where people can do their best work. We achieve this through collaboration with various service providers and stakeholders to manage building operations and services across Australia.
In addition, during COVID-19, Workplace Services plays a critical role in ensuring the safe operations of each site, and providing on-site support to ensure effective day to day operations.

The duties of the role

You will play a key role in managing the day to day functions and requirements of the office a large 100-200 person office and shared space. You will provide specialised and professional insight in to the workplace services space to ensure consistent planning and approaches to facilities needs are met. Your duties will include:

  • Manage the coordination of a variety of tasks to assist the office and faciltiies management
  • Managing faults, repairs and maintenance within the tenancy areas, through a work order management process and onsite attendance by contractors
  • Servicing customers on a wide range of building and operational matters
  • Undertake the required audits and site inspections to provide a safe and functional workplace
  • Support meeting room and corporate event setups
  • Provision and management of site security and cleaning services
  • Fleet car management, booking systems and operational taxi transport

What you will bring to the role

Our ideal candidate will have exposure to Government facilities processes and policies and have a strong background in faciities management and occupational health and safety practices. You will have previous experience in managing a team and find strength in collaboration.

Your key skills will include

  • Proven experience in facilities management
  • Client-focused attitude with a 'can do' attitude to ensure workplace needs are met.
  • Provide an integrated consultative service, analysing trends, identifying risks and alternative actions and recommending potential solutions to stakeholders and/or the work area to ensure effectiveness and functionality of the workplace
  • Understand and apply knowledge of statutory, governance and contractual obligations to achieve and improve outcomes in the work area
  • Manage and develop team capability and effectiveness through the transfer of skills and knowledge, actively mentoring, coaching and developing staff on policy, practices and system
  • Previous team leadership experience is essential
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret policy and advise staff of best practice relating to guidelines and policy.
  • Able to work within a team under a moderate level of supervision.
  • Exercises good judgment and seeks out opportunities for process improvement.
  • Able to influence and interact with a range of stakeholders to develop functioning working relationships
  • Understands risks and can assess mitigations

You MUST be an Australian Citizen with at least a 5 year employment footprint in Australia and eligible to clear a National Police Check
