One of our clients, is seeking the services of experienced WHS Coordinator to join the Chandler Macleod Team on their Port Hedland Site, for a labour hire position.

Role purpose: The WHS Advisor will assist in the implementation, compliance and management of the Town's safety management system while actively promoting a safe workplace culture. This position will also be responsible for proving Workplace Health and Safety advice and support to multiple ToPH workplace sites, conduct inspections and audits, conduct safety investigations, provide functional administrative support and administration of works compensation claims and injury management.

Accountabilities:
-Facilitate and foster a proactive safety, occupational health and risk managed culture throughout the organisation.
-Implement projects, initiatives and programs which support health and safety policy, procedures and WHS plan.
-Provide specialist safety leadership, advice, guidance and support to the WHS Officer.
-Provide specialist safety advice, guidance, support and coaching to all internal and external stakeholders on WHS matters
-Promote WHS awareness, accountability and responsibility across the organisation whilst encouraging a culture of safety awareness and commitment to strong WHS practices.
-Develop and maintain effective relationships and consultation processes with internal and external stakeholders.
-Ensure effective proactive responses to incidents, hazards and near misses.
-Perform oth routine and complex workplace investigations, inspections and risk assessments to a high standard.
-Ensure compliance with relevant WHS regulation and standards.
-Assist in the implementation, compliance and management of the Town's safety management system and audit programs.

Essential Experience:
-Tertiary qualification in work, Health and Safety and or related field or equivalent knowledge and experience in a similar role.
-Previous experience in a similar role with proven coaching and mentoring skills.
-High level knowledge and understanding of WHS systems, Workers Compensation processes and practices.
-Demonstrated experience developing and implementing WHS related projects.
-Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of WHS related training and assessment.
-Demonstrated experience in coordinating return to work programs and injury management legislation and processes.
-High level of verbal and written communication skills.

Position requirements:
-Tertiary qualifications in Work, Health and Safety (Certificate IV or higher)
-Workplace First Aid
-Current manuals drivers license
-National Police Clearance
