Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Web Publishing Officer on a contract for 10 months with potential extension12 months.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage BAU work delivery of the Digital and Creative team. BAU work includes:
    • Website and intranet publishing
    • Content preparation for publishing
    • Emails to subscribers
    • Eventbrite invitations
    • Webinar facilitation
  • Preparation and publishing of content on the agency communication systems ensuring content meets website design, language, accessibility and formatting of agency, government and web standards.

    • MailChimp
    • EventBrite
    • SurveyMonkey
  • Provide quality assurance of content prepared for publishing to ensure all published content meets website design, writing style, accessibility and formatting standards.
  • Be able to work within processes and standards and established priorities, whilst knowing when to seek help from supervisor or escalate concerns.
  • Lead on collaboration with the rest of the Digital and Creative team to solve complex design challenges, providing mock-ups to communicate the solutions to internal stakeholders.
  • Manage the workflow and reporting for our website and intranet support vendor.
  • Managing the webmaster inbox ensuring requests are actioned in a timely manner.
  • Maintain, review and improve work processes.
  • Support your supervisor with the management of the team, including staff, and deliverables.
  • Provide advice to the Digital and Creative team, as well as the agency on a variety of digital communication disciplines including:
    • Content design principles
    • Web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG)
    • User experience design

Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive experience managing content in a CMS, and the associated platform (eg: SharePoint 2013/2016, SharePoint Online, Drupal 7, etc)
  • Providing content design, user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design advice.
  • Managing support vendors, instigating work requests, and assessing completed work.
  • Current practical experience with web content accessibility.
  • Managing workflow of a team.
  • Experience writing and editing HTML.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline security clearance.
