The Role
 
In this role you will oversee the strategic development of the Lakes Creek Road Landfill and other Waste Facilities and play a pivotal role in the delivery of capital projects and asset maintenance, whilst providing engineering asset maintenance support to the Rockhampton Regional Waste and Recycling Section.
You will have a successful track record leading the development, planning and delivery of complex capital works projects, preferably in a waste or related industry, enabling you to ensure projects are completed in accordance with budget, best practice standards and within prescribed timeframes.
You will also identify opportunities and initiatives to drive change and improvement in Council’s response to waste management services and provide high level civil and geotechnical engineering advice.
 

To be successful you will have:
 
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject area or equivalent
  • Certification as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing asset maintenance plans, programmes and budgets
  • Knowledge of design, construction, operations and maintenance of infrastructure assets and waste infrastructure
  • Extensive experience in project management, contract administration and supervision of consultants
  • Demonstrated experience in applying Occupational Health Safety and Risk Management principles (preferably in a civil engineering environment) and fostering an OHS culture
