Chandler Macleod is proudly partnering with a State government organisation; a branch within the organisation ensures an effective financial management environment, including compliance and risk, payroll and policies and procedures.



About the role:


The VPS4 Payroll Specialist will be responsible for:
  • Management of superannuation function- including uploading files into third party software, investigating super returns, superannuation compliance.
  • Managing inbox, including attending to high volume routine payroll queries.
  • Processing specific payroll transactions into our payroll system.
  • Reconcile and resolve any employee superannuation or banking returns, including reconciliation of complex general ledger entries.
  • Actively support and promote the objectives of the Branch and demonstrate the organisations values.
  • Provide support to other payroll staff
  • Be familiar with and adhere to government rules and regulations

About you:
  • Prior similar experience under Australian rules and regulations
  • Fully vaccinated + One Booster to be able to work in the office
  • Proficient in Web based payroll systems (Aurion preferred)
  • Have significant experience managing superannuation and end-to-end payroll, including ability to work largely autonomously and under pressure
  • Ability to manage high level of payroll inbox queries, including where required to be hands-on in dealing with high volume payroll queries
  • Have strong E2E knowledge to manage queries for pre/post pay run
  • Have strong Superannuation knowledge
  • Ability to problem solve, lead tasks, and take ownership
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and reporting skills
