A exciting opportunity exists for a motivated individual to become Village Manager at a local well known independent living premises.

The Village Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the village including maintaining occupancy, completion of property management procedures, community networking, village activities and managing residents, visitors, staff and contractors performing services at the village. You will be required to participate in development and training to ensure we maintain a high standard by providing a quality product to residents and potential residents. The role is 'hands on' management and varies according to the size and nature of the village.

POSITION DUTIES (may include but are not limited to the following)

  • Actively strive to increase occupancy and maintain at a level as agreed with your supervisor ensuring appropriate resident fit within the village.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and complete tenancy paperwork including entry/routine/exit inspections in an accurate and timely manner
  • Attend to maintenance issues as they arise or escalate to support office for guidance if required
  • Ensure the village is maintained and presented to a high standard including cleaning, garden and lawn maintenance, unit maintenance and upkeep and community building/kitchen cleanliness and compliance.
  • Manage residents, contractors, guests, visitors and other staff entering the village
  • Complete and maintain resident files ensuring these files are kept confidential and secure.
  • Organise events/activities in order to maintain the community atmosphere fostering an active and vibrant village lifestyle and for the ongoing entertainment of our residents
  • Promote the village by showing potential clients the premises.
  • Network with key community groups and build relationships with new groups/organisations so as to foster enquiry and pipeline of potential residents
  • Ensure the village is free from clutter and that potential hazards are addressed and reported through Skytrust online safety platform
  • Perform all safety/compliance requests in accordance with company policies and procedures and ensure all employees, contractors, and any other persons working in the village are aware of our current Health and Safety practices and expectations.
  • Participate in team conferences where required
  • Assist in kitchen on an as-needed basis or in the event of absence of other staff
  • Ensure facilities are maintained in a standard that meets the expectations of local council and external audit requirements
  • Report all injuries, damage, theft, breakdown of equipment to the Operations Manager and keep appropriate records.
  • Display care and empathy towards the needs of our residents, communicate with genuine care and engage a positive relationship while maintaining professional conduct

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS/SELECTION CRITERIA
  • Management and people skills
  • Senior First Aid qualification
  • Strong understanding of relevant tenancy legislation
  • Excellent communication skills with residents and staff
  • Food Safety Supervisor qualification (Health & Community Sector)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
