This large organisation is in the Brisbane CBD and are seeking a UX UI Designer for an initial 6-month contract to design and develop a mobile app and desktop interface for an App Redesign project.

About the role:

In the position of UX UI Designer, you will be working with a Product Manager to redesign an application that is used to carry out assessments, ratings, monitoring and compliance across Queensland. The App has reached the end of its lifecycle and is in a position where a redesign and modernisation process is required.

Role duties will include:

  • Facilitation of workshops in collaboration with a Product Manager and end-users to create industry standard valued front-end pages and UX/UI design patterns
  • Requirements gathering, verification and documentation of user experience requirements
  • Create, improve and use wireframes, personas, prototypes, style guides, user flows, and effectively communicate your interactions and ideas using these methods.
  • Construction of Functional Design Documents
  • Test the updated UX/UI with users to validate UX/UI recommendations, improve processes and increase integration of functionality and capability.
  • Lead the UX/UI design and planning processes whilst working in close partnership with the in-house developers during the build, testing and deployment stages and provide support as required
  • Use effective time management and organisational skills to priorities workloads and meet timelines

Skills required:

  • Three or more years' experience in UI/UX design.
  • An exceptional, demonstrated design portfolio with a proven record of translating insight to design.
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills and working as part of a team
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum practices would be advantageous but not required
