Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Temporary Election Workforce Delivery on a Non-Ongoing position that Start 10/10/2022.

Position Overview

The People and Property Branch at the AEC is responsible for employee relations and wellbeing, payroll and system, workforce modernisation and change, recruitment and national property

The Team Leader, TEW Delivery supports the Assistant Director, TEW Support in the day to day management of matters relating to the EmployTrainPay (ETP) Helpdesk and Election Systems. This role has a particular focus on the management of the agency's bespoke Election HR systems and participating in section planning for short term tasks and contributing to stragic planning for longer term initiatives.

The role is responsible for undertaking work that is moderately complex in nature, under limited direction, utilising expertise and knowledge within the area of Election Systems and the administration of the ETP Helpdesk.

Key position responsibilities

  • Responsible for the management and delivery of projects relating to the TEW, including the development of recruitment initiatives and mechanisms for keeping in touch with the TEW.
  • Undertake quality assurance activities to maintain the integrity, availability and capability of TEW systems including data input and reporting requirements.
  • Provide expertise and technical knowledge in the management and end to end functionality of the TEW information systems, including administration.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of associated policies and procedures in relation to the management and administration of the TEW.
  • Conduct research and analysis to provide conclusions on issues and assist in the management, preparation and coordination of policy or procedure formulation and/or project management.
  • Provide analysis on complex issues and contribute to the management, preparation and coordination of policy formulation and/or project management.
  • May be required to supervise a team to ensure high quality outputs, including the development of team members at lower classifications, building team capacity and encouraging career development.
  • Develop and support key internal and external relationships, including managing stakeholders to achieve work area and agency goals. In addition, represent the agency by promoting it's interests in various forums.
  • Provide accurate specialist advice, guidance and reporting on team functional responsibilities.
  • Make and communicate decisions using good judgement, expertise and knowledge, governed by legislation, regulations, best practice principles or relevant operating instructions and procedures.
  • Contribute to doctrine, election preparation and delivery activities in accordance with the election readiness framework, according to individual accountabilities and responsibilities.
  • Perform additional duties or assume responsibility of functions as directed from time to time.
  • Additional responsibilities during an Electoral Event
  • Utilise functional expertise within the area of administration and management of the functionality assurance and testing.
  • The volume of requests for advice and matters, along with the urgency to resolve matters, will increase significantly prior to and during federal electoral events.
  • Support the Employ Train Pay (ETP) helpdesk team as a point of escalation.
  • Ensure that all training programs operating procedures and key deliverables are available and ready.
  • Support Program and project areas where required.
