Position title: Test Engineer - (Mechanical) - RMS - Government
Contract Estimation Duration:
Company Type / Size: Government
Location: WFH / Huntingwood - NSW
Salary / Rate: EL1 - TBC
Purpose of this position:
The Test Engineer (Mechanical) supports the conduct of work programs and projects that assess the crashworthiness of vehicles and roadside infrastructure.

General Requirements:

  • Support crash-worthiness tests and assessments in accordance with documented specifications and procedures to ensure accuracy and validity of the test results.
  • Prepare test documentation and test reports to ensure clear communication of the tests and their results.
  • Contribute to the development of test methods and equipment in accordance with Crash lab's formal Quality Assurance and continuous improvement program.
  • Support the design, development and manufacture of test fixtures for routine testing and special projects.
  • Contribute to the project timeliness by monitoring the progress and performance of external suppliers and contractors through regular liaison and correspondence.

    Education:
  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to work to written instructions and technical procedures with minimal direct supervision.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • High level technical problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) software.
