Working at Newmont Boddington Gold Operations you can live locally and go home after every shift or stay in the Village for your swing and DIDO. The site is only 130kms from the Perth CBD and approximately 100kms from the coast.

Chandler Macleod is proud to be partnering with Newmont Boddington Gold to deliver recruitment, labour hire and workforce services. We currently seeking Expressions of Interest for the start of CY2021 5 days on, 2days off, 4 days on, 3 days off roster performing 9 hour shifts - a great work/life balance.

Reporting to the Engineering & Asset health Supervisor, the Technical Writer will be providing support to the Mine Maintenance Asset Management team and NBG's business functions to improve task groups, maintenance plans and strategies within SAP, allowing quality work execution to increase equipment reliability and availability. Specifically looking at technical document writing & STP's for new CAT 793F autonomous haul truck fleet. Key accountabilities will include:

  • Conduct in-field task analysis, and liaise with stakeholders to collect information and digital photographs for STPs
  • Review published STPs and provide recommendations for revision or changes
  • Management of process to ensure STP records and files of working and revision documents comply with NBG document control requirements
  • Consult with asset SMEs, vendors, plant operators and trades to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for STPs
  • Interpret and extract information from technical drawings to develop STPs
  • Organise and write STPs according to set standards for order, clarity, conciseness, style, terminology and appropriate standards of performance for inspections and testing
  • Edit, standardise, or make changes to STPs prepared by other technical writers or scoping personnel


Essential Knowledge, Skills, experience and Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a similar role for a major mining company in WA
  • Strong background and knowledge in mobile equipment
  • Proficiency in the application of the MS Office Suite
  • Trade background highly desirable
  • Hands-on attitude, willing to get out in the field to support the Operations Readiness team
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screen
  • Current WA Drivers License
