Our client, a Government agency, requires a Technical Services Officer to join their team on a contract until December 2021 with possibility of extension for a further 6 months. This role will be based in the Moree/Tamworth area and is offering a competitive salary package of $61.00 per hour + Superannuation.

The primary function of the Technical Services Officer is to monitor compliance and provide support services for tenants including customer service, checking vacants, checking planned works and general quality control.

The responsibilities of the role are:

  • Audits on Asset condition assessments (first 3 months)
  • Vacant restoration scoping
  • Completion inspections with Contractors
  • Review of variation requests
  • Work health and safety audits
  • Responsive maintenance audits
  • Build and maintain relationships with contractor's supervisor
  • Work closely with stakeholders to deliver vacant restorations
  • Auditing and Oversite of planned works and programed works including understanding of maintenance specifications
  • Liaise with Local Authority bodies to meet regulations
  • Manage and oversee particular aspects of projects and implementations, including developing and monitoring project plans, coordinating resources, and monitoring budgets to ensure successful project milestones are met.
  • Prepare a range of project-related documents for key stakeholders as required, including status updates, reports, budgets and discussion papers to manage the flow of information.
  • Deliver on assigned projects and processes within agreed upon deadlines and quality standards.
  • Work effectively with Aboriginal Communities & team members.
  • Maintain oversight of project progress and identifying issues and risks bringing them to the attention of business unit manager

    To excel in this role, the successful candidate will have:
  • A current driver's licence
  • Construction or Maintenance experience essential
  • The ability to mentor and support Maintenance delivery
  • An understanding and previous experience in budgets and project cost management
  • Understanding of National Construction Code (NCC) to be able to complete quality inspections on maintenance
  • Understanding of Work, Health & Safety (WH&S) requirements to be able to complete inspections on in progress maintenance work.
  • Have excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
  • Excellent computer skills and the ability to prepare reports and present project based communications
  • Must be able to work with Aboriginal Communities

    Please note that travel will form 70% of this role with travelling being required to Tamworth/Moree and surrounds.
