Chandler Macleod is currently taking applications from experienced Hydrogeology Technical Offers for a 4 month leave coverage role. This is a great opportunity to #unleashyourpotential with a reputable industry leader!

This role is available for an immediate start running until late March 2022. Working an 8/6 roster FIFO from Perth with one of WA's leading iron ore mining companies.

Key functions of the role will include:

  • Understand the hydrogeological drilling schedule and sequence of rig movements to ensure drill pad preparation ahead of rig arrival
  • Measure water tables in boreholes or open holes using manual dip meter, recording of data into spreadsheet or database
  • Pegging of areas associated with environmental, heritage and land issues.
  • Supervise earthmoving contractors during clearing, sump and pad preparation and rehabilitation work with due attention to GDP requirements
  • Complete data entry
  • Prepare and maintain vehicles, ensuring daily pre-start checks are completed.


Qualifications and skills required:

  • Two years relevant experience working unsupervised in mining environment and remote locations
  • Relevant previous experience in the supervision of contract resources
  • Ability to prepare reports
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment in a safe and competent manner
  • Competency in use of field laptop for data collection
  • Competency in use of MS Office software (MS Excel, Outlook and Word)
  • Class C manual WA driver's license + Current National Police Check
  • 4WD Course
  • Senior First Aid
  • Forklift ticket
