Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Technical Certification and Safety Specialist on a contract until June 2021.

Position Overview

The Certification Engineer will need to possess a flexible approach and work collaboratively with the Commonwealth and the other service providers contracted to the Commonwealth. The Certification Engineer will be required to work with and take into account contributions and feedback provided by Commonwealth and other stakeholders in the development of deliverables.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Project Certification Plan and provide any updates required to support the Seaworthiness Framework;
  • Deliver the safety and certification deliverables for the Project Office in accordance with the PCP, including the Safety Case for MSMCS Stage 1;
  • Chair, on behalf of the Project Management Office, the MSMCS Safety Working Group and manage safety deliverables, review, and feedback on behalf of the Project Management Office;
  • Review and provide feedback of CDRLs, and working with client to refine engineering documentation to an acceptable standard; and
  • Other 5B2 related tasks as directed by the EM or PM.
  • Develop Approved plans and documentation in accordance with project schedule;
  • Provide Monthly Progress Reports (1-2 page report of tasks conducted, highlights including risks and issues, ongoing tasks, forecast tasks (3+ months)) to be submitted as part of the monthly invoice or directly to the EM or PM;
  • Provide signed minutes from meetings in a timely fashion;
  • Provide briefings and information sessions as required to the Project Office or stakeholders.

Mandatory Requirements:

The successful candidate will be required to have an NV1 clearance.
