The Technical Advisor is responsible for managing claims in compliance with NSW legislation, policies of the SafeWork NSW including its Claims Management Model and in support of the goal of minimising compensation premiums.

Overview
The position manages relationships with all parties involved in a claim ensuring that services provided meet benchmarks and expectations. It works closely with key stakeholders in managing an allocated claims portfolio providing support, strategic advice and analysis on the management of workers compensation claims.
  • $50.00 per hour + Super
  • Surry Hills, Wollongong Locations (Hybrid)
  • 6 – 12 months contract
Key responsibilities
  • Encourage the use of best practice strategies by key operational managers to ensure active identification of suitable duties, case reviews and proactive communication.
  • Conduct claims reviews with Commands and insurer (WPI and WID) identifying areas or strengths and weaknesses for best practice strategies.
  • Manage relationships with all parties involved in a claim to ensure that services provided meet benchmarks and expectations.
  • Liaise with the insurer in relation to changes in estimates and ensure that affected business units are informed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain factual file notes and management information to ensure that they are maintained within legislative requirements.
  • Attendance at Workers Compensation Commission, Informal Settlement Conferences and all other Court matters as required.
  • Comprehensive experience in the NSW workers compensation scheme – in particular someone with good technical knowledge of the statutory entitlements and legislation or experience in the litigation space (WPI / WID).
  • Attend as required Injury Management Portfolio meeting with Commands to assist with best practice claims management and time effective resolution of claims where required.
 
Key Experience

This role has autonomy to make decisions regarding the day to day prioritisation of workload and administration functions and providing information and recommendations to management to inform decision making in liaison with the manager.
  • Obtain and maintain the requisite security clearances for this position.
  • Current, Class C Drivers Licence.
