We are seeking a leader to take the cultural services team into the future including their transition into the new Cultural and Civic Space in the heart of the Coffs Harbour city centre, scheduled to be completed by the end of 2022. The exciting new building will include a Central Library over three floors with dedicated spaces for Children and Youth, Regional Gallery, Museum, Interactive Arts workshop, Makerspace and Digital Creative Studio.

Reporting directly to the Section Leader Community Programs, the Team Leader Cultural Services is responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction, community engagement, planning delivery and overseeing the operational management of the Cultural Services Team. Delivering a unique blended service model, within the team sits the key service areas of cultural development and programs, libraries, regional gallery, museum, public art and operations.

With sound people management skills, a dynamic and experienced leader with outstanding communication skills, you will provide excellence in people leadership, stakeholder engagement, and championing the creative industries to the broader community. Your ability to bring a modern mindset of innovation will be highly valued as we seek to use new pathways to connect with all demographics within our community.

You will have a demonstrated understanding of the role creative industries, cultural development, libraries, museums and galleries play in creating vibrant communities, as well as experience in community engagement and effectively promoting cultural services. Additionally, you will also have the demonstrated ability in leading change, supporting a high performing and collaborative team and highly regarded expertise in managing budgets and innovative programs.

You will have a degree or post-graduate qualification in one or more of the following: Business, Marketing, Fine/Visual Arts, Library Science, Museum Studies, Tourism or a related field as well as relevant experience
