Our Government client is seeking to engage Tax and GST Officers at APS4 to APS6 Levels on a Non-Ongoing contract for 12 Months.

Position Overview

Our Client looking for experienced Tax and GST officers to help us continue to build a leading tax and superannuation administration known for contemporary service, expertise and integrity. Tax and GST officers should have private wealth, large private business, large public groups or international experience.

You'll join a team of corporate and international tax specialists brought together to deal with multinational and domestic tax avoidance, with the opportunity to interact and negotiate with clients and stakeholders on various Tax and GST issues.

As a member of this team, you will be able to test yourself against the best minds in your field, not just here but on a global stage. You will perform a range of complex client engagement activities that will help to achieve positive outcomes that benefit the whole community and protect the integrity of the taxation system.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a dynamic team dealing with complex Tax and GST arrangements
  • Contribute to a range of complex client engagement activities
  • Negotiate with clients using professional expertise
  • Build capability, by coaching and mentoring others
  • Perform quality assurance activities

Our Ideal candidate will have:

  • Degree in tax, accounting, commerce or law
  • Knowledge and experience of Tax and/or GST legislative and financial environments, particularly in the areas of large public and private groups and multinational enterprises
  • Experience in providing Tax and/or GST consulting advice and/or compliance experience
  • Knowledge of the systems, processes and controls that are relevant to the preparation of income tax returns and/or business activity statements
  • Knowledge of the structures and tax planning approaches used in large and/or private businesses
  • Proven experience in the tax, accounting or law fields (ideally from a mid-tier or large firm)
  • Willingly shares information and work with peers to streamline processes and create efficiencies
