Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Systems Accountant on a contract for 18 months.

Position Overview

The role will:

  • Design and implement internal system controls (preventative and detective) to provide quality assurance over financial data
  • Review and maintain all financial systems policies and procedures
  • Be the business contact and subject matter expert for Finance, responsible for the management of financial systems, tools, and frameworks.
  • Manage and improve the governance framework that supports the administration and access to our financial applications SAP roles
  • Work closely with the specialist technical teams in the delivery of transformation, system upgrades and automation through the introduction of systems, edge tools and process improvement, that support and uplift capability and reduce red tape.
  • Demonstrate skills as a technical expert, responsible for leading and driving best practice finance governance methodologies.
  • Create and administer data structures, including but not limited to budget, vendor and customer data
  • Identify, troubleshoot and where applicable resolve finance related system issues
  • Evaluate, design, test and implement appropriate reporting solutions
  • Seek opportunities for improvement, working with the business to establish requirements.
  • Showcase your excellent communications skills, ensuring the department has a robust financial and data governance framework in place to support financial compliance through training materials, systems, policy, processes, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Demonstrate expertise regarding the reporting requirements and tools used to support an organisation in delivering is outcomes.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial compliance requirements in-line with Accounting Standards and Commonwealth legislative requirements.
