About the role:

The Surge Support Officer role is a position that will provide administrative support and service delivery across operational performance, quality experience, community stakeholder management, health safety and wellbeing.

Working fulltime on-site on a rotating roster 4 days on and 4 days off, with overnight hours 2 days per week, some responsibilities include:

  • Provide effective technical or administrative services and communication under high volume and demand.
  • Undertake straightforward technical or administrative steps documented across the work unit's policies, procedures, and instruction manuals in a timely manner, ensuring all information available is accurate and complete for reporting purposes.
  • Coordinate documentation and complete data processing required for end to end record management.
  • Explain procedures and policies to colleagues, employees, supervisors, or other stakeholders so that routine activities or slight modifications to process requirements are helpful in achieving a positive, collective response to high demands.
  • Apply a fundamental understanding of the work unit's role, systems and functions, and the impact the tasks have on response outcomes
  • Support the delivery of operations objectives and plans.

About you:

Ideally you will have relevant education and experience in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations, as well as:

  • Experience in providing administrative support or customer service as part of a team
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency of Microsoft Office suite applications including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and the Internet.
  • Strong keyboard skills and excellent written communication
  • Effective interpersonal and influencing skills to gain acceptance and support of ideas, and the ability to modify style to accommodate situations, tasks and individuals.
  • Ability to actively participate as a member of a team and assist others to achieve work goals.
  • Ability to operate under pressure in a stressful environment and work effectively within tight timelines.
  • Judgement and maturity to ensure matters of a confidential or sensitive nature are handled and dealt with appropriately and diplomatically.
