An ideal opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager who has demonstrated experience leading a small team across supply chain procurement and purchasing requirements.

The company is well known within the mining and heavy engineering industries and ideally looking for someone with similar industry experience to join their corporate office based on the Central Coast .

Key responsibilities of the Supply Chain Manager

  • Leads all Supply Chain functions for Australia
  • Helps to develop and then implements Supply Chain strategy, working closely with stakeholders, operational teams to understand customer requirements and implement the most appropriate Supply Chain solutions
  • Proactively seeks out and analyses global industry trends to ensure effective, up to date Supply Chain solutions
  • Ensures that the supply chain is safe, sustainable and appropriately accredited
  • Works closely with Operational, Sales & Engineering colleagues to implement agreements across the business
  • Implements and leads performance management and supplier development programmes, provides metrics and trend analysis. Implements corrective action plans
  • Delivers targeted savings and performance improvement benefits and is accountable for the cost reduction and performance of the total supply chain solution in the region
  • Authorises the appropriate selection of subcontractors/suppliers as and when appropriate
  • Leads subcontract and major supply meetings and negotiations. Prepares and places significant subcontract and major material supply orders. Approves contractual documentation

    Ideal requirements and experience:
  • Experience leading a Supply Chain team or similar
  • Procurement within a manufacturing organisation
  • Procurement and logistics from overseas sources
  • High level of computer proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Highly practiced understanding and competency in EPR/MRP systems
  • High level understanding of a stores/warehousing processes
  • At least 3 years in a similar role within a high volume engineering environment
  • Demonstrated ability for working collaboratively with organisational stakeholders to identify procurement opportunities for continuous improvement in regard to; Cost, Quality, Delivery or Commercial Terms.
  • Experience in Production Planning & Scheduling role or similar
