We are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor for one of our Top Tier clients within the mining sector. This position is offered on a permanent basis with a generous basic salary plus three annual bonuses.

With four direct reports you will be ensuring the smooth running of the bi monthly payrolls and legislative and company compliance is adhered to.

Accountabilities include:

  • Provide relevant information to leaders, co-workers, teams and individuals (including meetings, pre- start, tool box meetings, written communications, e-mail, via telecommunications and in person).
  • Develop specific tasks and plans to prioritise, organise, and achieve set goals for team and individuals.
  • Schedule events, programs, and activities for team and individual team members.
  • Coordinate and manage the entire payroll function.
  • Prepare and audit Bi-monthly variance report, ensuring legislative, Award and company policy compliance.

Experience required:

  • Demonstrated experience in end to end payroll processing experience dealing with complex employment structures (allowances, deductions, work schedule rules, rosters, bonuses, superannuation etc.).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll procedures, with an advanced understanding of the end to end monthly payroll process.
  • High level of numerical ability and data entry skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proven experience and knowledge having worked with employment contracts and industrial agreements.
  • Demonstrable ability to understand and interpret payroll legislation and processes (PAYG, Payroll Tax, Superannuation).
  • Proven ability to interpret and comply with relevant awards and legislation (long service leave, NES etc.)


To be successful in this role you will bring demonstrated experience in supervising a small payroll team. You will be super, SAP savvy and possess strong skills in maintaining data integrity, high level reporting and strong stakeholder management skills.
