Position title: Structural Engineer / Manager
Contract Estimation Duration: Permanent
Company Type / Size: Small Engineering Consultancy
Location: Western Suburbs - Sydney
Salary / Rate: $90K - $130 (DOE - Neg)
Purpose of this position:
This role would suit an experienced engineer, 3yrs+ to take the next step in their career.
The ideal candidates does Not have to have previous management experience but is looking to step into this role now in a small company managing the office with the guidance of the director and a snr engineer whilst also carrying out engineering duties.
Previous single dwelling residential structural design experience essential - Projects range from $100K - $2M.
Reports to: Chairman (management issues) & Senior Engineer (technical issues)
General Requirements:
● Design and document structural projects in accordance with the clients' processes
● Client liaison with respect to progress of specific projects
● Professional communication with colleagues and external consultant/professionals
● Maintain and develop technical ability per Engineers Australia requirements
● Maintain and develop local industry knowledge and experience
● Assist junior staff as necessary to improve their knowledge and understanding

Technical Scope:
1. Achievement of the annual budget
2. Creation of and implementation of the 90-day plans
3. Maintenance of current, relevant, and effective essential documentation (including insurances, licenses, registration, and contracts)
4. The maintenance of company processes and the adherence of staff to these
5. Maintenance of the company culture
6. Performance, satisfaction, and ongoing development of staff

Additional Responsibilities:
● Ensure appropriate Board reports are produced in a timely manner
● Management of all staff with respect to performance and development
● Monitor employee satisfaction and take steps to ensure continuous improvement
● Staff recruiting, induction, training and leave monitoring/approval
● Schedule/prioritise engineering activities
