Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced Strategy & Planning Manager to join our client based in Liverpool, Western Sydney for a full time permanent opportunity.

Working within the Commercial and Strategy team and reporting to the General Manager of Strategy & EPMO this role will be responsible for:

  • Develop, monitor and refine the company's business and corporate strategy
  • Identify and review strategic risks and seize opportunities
  • Develop and update the corporate Strategic Business Plan
  • Gather insights and assemble priorities to help set the strategic agenda
  • Prepare workshops and Board Strategy days
  • Conduct research activities to explore strategic issues, keep on top of competitors, understand emerging trends in the broader environment
  • Identify threats and opportunities
  • Prepare plans, briefings, presentations and Board papers to present strategic outcomes and recommendations by liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Initiate, develop and implement frameworks , processes and plans to operationalize the strategy and support the analysis of business proposals
  • Adhere to budgets to deliver the agreed outputs
  • Support trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders including commercial bodies, government agencies and regulatory bodies, airlines, contractors, and industry
    associations in accordance with business priorities;
  • Prepare & refine modelling, demand forecasting and evaluation of scenarios if required
  • Provide support and insight into significant organisational changes
  • Support the execution of business-wide transformation plans to completion.
  • Initiate, develop and implement frameworks, processes and workshops to support the refinement of the business strategy (including modelling and business case development) and alignment efforts across the business.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of strategic dashboards

    To be suitable for this role you will have:
  • Tertiary qualifications, preferably in business, economics or engineering and/or equivalent skills and knowledge with demonstrated career experience.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in a similar role within a tier one organisation in strategy teams, business intelligence roles or consultancy firms.
  • Experience and qualifications in project management methodologies is desirable.
  • A working knowledge and understanding of the aviation industry including airport and airline operations, involvement in infrastructure projects, preparing business cases as well as experience with Commonwealth departmental processes is desirable.
  • Previous experience with strategy tools, for example organising and conducting war games and simulation, and/or scenario planning, is advantageous.
