Chandler Macleod is currently looking for a Stakeholder Engagement Officer to join a leading NSW Government Agency for a contract basis of 6 months.

The Role

The primary objective of the Stakeholder Engagement Officer role is to work with the managers on the development and implementation of internal and external engagement programs and initiatives. It works on multichannel campaigns both internally with internal employees and externally with identified key stakeholders including the wider industry, media and with internal employees.

Daily Duties

  • Support the Senior Engagement Officer in the coordination of engagement activities with point to point sector stakeholders including the development of protocols and tools for a coordinated approach to key stakeholders across projects
  • Facilitate internal forums to promote pragmatic, real time coordination of activities
  • Assist in the establishment of systems to track and report on key stakeholder engagement activities across all significant point to point sector projects to inform and support decision making and planning
  • Use systems to provide insights into key stakeholder relationships and issues and take the lead role, where appropriate, in the management of a stakeholder's engagement with the Commission to support the Senior Engagement Officer in managing key relationships.
  • Work across projects on behalf of stakeholders to resolve significant issues.
  • Provide strategic advice to the Senior Engagement Officer and other team members to support the effective management of emerging stakeholder issues and concerns

    To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following skill set:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - you will be required to deal with a range of stakeholders both internally and externally, as well as write a range of written materials including briefing notes, talking points, media releases, engagement plans and articles;
  • Highly organised - ability to juggle multiple projects and effectively manage your time;
  • Ability to keep up to date with best practice engagement practices for both internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to think creatively to provide out of the box communication
  • Team player - be able to work autonomously on projects but also being a strong team player.
