Specialist Site Systems – Contractor Management

About the role

The Site Systems Specialist - Contractor Management will be dedicated to govern and support the Contractor Management Framework at BMA’s Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI). NPI operate and maintain a unique portfolio that is critical in enabling BMA operations including travel logistics with airports, flights, and accommodation in addition to raw water and treatment plant infrastructure.

The role is for a duration of six months and will reporting to the Superintendent Site Systems. This will be exciting and challenging and you will be responsible for providing technical support, facilitating and influencing change through identification and support of lead improvement initiatives relative to the Contractor Management Framework for Operations to ensure compliance with Legislative requirements, Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) and Risk Management systems. 
This position is based in the Bowen Basin. 

$58.65 p/hr flat rate

In this role you will:
  • Provide technical support for the implementation and governance of the BMA CMF, SHMS, Risk Management and compliance framework across Operations portfolio including Village and Housing Accommodation, Aviation and Logistics.
  • Identify and support lead initiatives to embed Contractor Management systems ensuring legal compliance with the QLD Work Health and Safety legislation.
  • Identify and facilitate change through supporting lead initiatives to drive process in bridging any identified gaps, cost and productivity improvements to support the continuous improvement of the Framework.
  • Develop strong working relationships with Operations and Contract Partners to monitor and report in-field adherence to CMF compliance.
  • Identify synergy opportunities that can be tailored to better suit the business needs.
  • Support the on-boarding of new vendors.
  • Support contract partners CMP audits ensuring compliance to SHMS.
  • Provide coaching and training for Contract Owners, Supervisors and Contract Partners to navigate internal systems and expectations in accordance with the BMA Framework and document management / record keeping requirements.
  • Support and attend pre-mobilisation, safety and performance and close out meetings.
  • Review and provide feedback to Operations Contract Owners, CMF Lead and vendor partners on their Contractor Management Plan.
About you
  • Experience in Contract Management, Auditing, Safety, Risk or Law with relevant Tertiary Qualifications preferred.
  • Contractor management experience, combined with a strong working knowledge of Qld Work Health and Safety legislation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of regulatory bodies, governance and risk management through risk assessments/execution and embedding change.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills with the ability to facilitate and influence compliance outcomes whilst building constructive relationships and creditability with stakeholders.
  • Strong computer skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to organise and manage competing demands and priorities.
