Our client, one of Australia's leading resources companies, is seeking to engage a competent Specialist Commissioning Engineers as their Perth metropolitan-based refinery nears the commissioning phase. The Specialist Commissioning Engineers will be required carry out commissioning activities as directed through multiple stages of pre-commissioning, water commissioning and process commissioning to facilitate the process of turning metal briquettes into metal powder.

The role will initially be CBD based for the first three months with regular site visits, followed by an extended 6-9-month duration based on-site in Perth's south. Reporting to the Lead Commissioning Engineers, your specific responsibilities of the role are:

The core accountabilities of this role will include:

  • Prepare commissioning plans and procedures as directed
  • Ensure efficient execution of the commissioning process in accordance with the approved project schedule, commissioning procedures/plans, project standards and company policies and procedures, e.g., management of change, risk management and health, safety and environment requirements
  • Contribute to a safe work environment in accordance with the policies and procedures
  • Assist as necessary to facilitate completion of the Construction Verification stage of the completions process
  • Provide input into commissioning progress tracking and reporting
  • Compilation of all necessary documentation to allow handover from the project to the Operations Readiness team
  • Work cooperatively with all project delivery interfaces to the benefit of the project, e.g. construction contractor, engineering service provider, control systems engineer, vendors, equipment suppliers, etc.

The successful candidate will require:

  • Metallurgical / Minerals Processing / Chemical Engineering Degree or approved equivalent; and
  • 5 - 10 years' experience with demonstrated experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, preferably on minerals / metals processing plants.
  • Prior experience with completions management software (the PLNSP uses Intergraph Smart Completions)
  • Working knowledge of typical mechanical equipment installed in minerals/metals processing plants
  • Working knowledge of instrumentation; ·control systems; and process and functional safety.
